William Clair Neagley of Elliottsburg, age 89, joined his Heavenly Father on October 1, 2021. Born on May 1, 1932 at home to the late David and Mary (Mitchell) Neagley of Killinger, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Kretzing) Neagley and his daughter, Karen Fletcher. He is survived by his son, William Steven Neagley of Elliottsburg, one grandson, Ty Sims, and two great grandchildren, Jett and Kensington Sims, all of Paragould, AR. In addition, Clair is survived by two siblings: Elma Gair of Danville and Helen Young of Bloomsburg.
Clair was a member of Mannsville Lutheran Church, Elliottsburg, where he sang in the choir and served on the Church Council. In addition to raising a family, farming and actively participating at church, Clair also belonged to the Adams Lodge #319 in New Bloomfield and Madison Grange. Clair loved farming and animals, but he was particularly passionate about horses and his late canine companion, Teddy.
A public viewing will be held Friday, October 8 from 10 AM to 11 AM in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville. The funeral service will follow the viewing at 11 AM, with the Rev. Kevin O’Bryan officiating. Interment will follow the service at David’s Church Cemetery in Millersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mannsville Lutheran Church, 2944 Mannsville Rd, Elliottsburg, PA 17024.
