Sarah Jane Teats

Sarah Jane (Good) Teats, age 84, joined her Heavenly Father on August 29, 2020.  Born on August 23, 1936 to the late Christian and Eva (Welcomer) Good in Harrisburg, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, James R Teats.  She is survived by her son, James Teats, Jr (Wendy) of Columbia and her daughter, Sarah Bobonick (Patrick) of Loysville.  In addition to her children, Sarah is survived by five grandchildren:  Tosha Hoffer (Travis) of Ephrata, Bree-anna Wickard (Jeff) of Mechanicsburg, Caitlen Bair (Adam) of Walnut Bottom, Andrew Teats (Ashley) of Oley, and Michael Davis of Elizabethtown, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Sarah is also survived by three sisters:  Ruth Sealer of Hershey, and Christine Dice (John) and Fern Hess (Wilbur) both of Elizabethtown, and two brothers:  Richard Good (Marilyn) of Rome, NY and Teddy Good (Linda) of Elizabethtown.  She was preceded in death by her brother Daniel Good, Sr.  Sarah will be missed by her canine companions Sage and Doodlebug.  Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to several generations.  Sarah always put family first – especially the great-grandchildren!  She was the most beautiful woman – both inside and out.   She was generous, giving and loving.

She was a member of the Landisburg Church of God, where she both attended and played the organ.  This lady played the organ by ear and from memory.  In addition to being a clone of Mrs. Santa Clause, Sarah was a member of the Perry Piece Makers and Ickesburg Quilters.  She retired as a manager for Marriott’s Burger King and included Copper Luster Inn, Century 21 Realty, and Gold Skate skating rink as former employers.  Sarah entertained her friends and family with many stories of traveling with her husband “Pap”. 

The greeting time with family for Sarah will be held at Landisburg Church of God, 301 E Water St, Landisburg at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 8, with her memorial service beginning at 11 AM.  The interment will follow the memorial service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, at 1:30 PM.  These services will follow the COVID parameters of social distancing with masks recommended, but not required.
