Ruth L. Good of Bridges at Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg went to her heavenly home on July 1, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
She was the daughter of the late Jacob B. Lefever and Ella Lefever. Born in Lancaster on June 1, 1927, "Toots" as she was known to family and friends, spent much of her career working at the family owned business, Lefever's Flowers and later as cut flower manager at Stauffers of Kissel Hill. A talented floral designer, she spread joy to others with her creations, selling flowers at the Lancaster County Farmers Market in Wayne and helping her daughter and grandchildren make Christmas arrangements.
One week after her 18th birthday she married Vernon S. Good - traveling to where he was stationed (Norman, Oklahoma Naval Aviation Technical Training Center) during WW2 to be wed. They enjoyed life together for 50 years until his passing in 1997.
Toot, called Tootsie by her nieces and nephews, enjoyed many things-spending time with family, travel, shopping, bowling, working with flowers and having liveley discussions with her sisters Dot and Anna.
She is survived by: a daughter- Barbara Marakowski of Elliottsburg and her husband Dr. James Marakowski, Grandsons Michael Mumper and wife Maritza, Jason Mumper and wife Jenni and two great grandchildren Adam and Aaron Mumper.
She was predeceased by: two brother, Paul B. Lefever and Melvin Lefever, two sisters; Anna Ebersole and Dorothy Buckwalter and a dear great-grandson Jacob Rettig.
A Private Graveside service will be held at Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery.
