Noah Amspacher Obituary

Noah D. Amspacher, age 86 of Landisburg died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 25, 2023.  Born in Brodbecks, PA on May 5, 1936 to the late John and Cora (Dubs) Amspacher, Noah was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Evelyn Doris (Shetz) Amspacher; seven children:  Gary (Christina) Amspacher of Shermans Dale, Scott (Bobbie Jo) Hitt of Blain, Terry (Chris) Hitt of Shiresmantown, Deborah (Todd) Gingrich of York, Teresa (Todd) Mitten of Elliottsburg, Dawn (Tim) Hostetter of Landisburg, and Amanda (Stephen) Seiders of Harrisburg; one son-in-law:  Craig Telesha of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Nova Stonesifer of Oakland, MD; one sister-in-law, Dottie Amspacker of WA; and many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Noah is preceded in death by his first two wives, Charlotte Stonesifer and Carolyn Gilmore; a daughter, Melissa Telesha; four siblings:  Harold Amspacker, Vernon Amspacher, Pauline Mosebrook and Arlene Marshall; and brother-in-law, Elton Stonesifer.

After graduating from high school, Noah worked in a machine shop for several years.  He retired after many years of service as the Maintenance Supervisor at the Perry Health Center.  He was a member of the National Guard and New Hope United Church of Christ.  He enjoyed hunting, tending his garden and sharing plants and veggies with friends and family, and hosting his annual soup party where he made and served chicken corn and ham and bean soups.

Noah’s Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 2 in the calming chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville.  The visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 noon.  The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, officiated by Pastor Josh Craley.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Blain Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Noah’s name to New Hope United Church of Christ, PO Box 343, Landisburg, PA  17040.
