Nancy L. (McNaughton) Johnson

Nancy (McNaughton) Johnson, age 94, resident of Thornwald Home, Carlisle, and formerly of Landisburg, joined her Heavenly Father on December 31, 2022.  Born in Millerstown on December 6, 1928, to the late Charles and Margaret (Reeder) McNaughton, Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Johnson I; a son, Samuel Burdette; and all 15 of her siblings.  She is survived by her two sons:  John Johnson II (Jean-deceased) of Landisburg and Robert (Carla) Johnson of Carlisle; two grandchildren:  Stacy Brown of East Petersburg, and Brian (Alicia) Johnson of Carlisle; one great grandson, Carter, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to raising a family, running a household, and being an active farmer’s wife, Nancy worked as a computer operator for the Bank of Landisburg -- from which she retired.  Nancy was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ in Landisburg. She was involved for many years in the Landisburg Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Landisburg Ambulance.  In her retirement, she volunteered at Perry Village and with Meals on Wheels.  Nancy was an avid gardener and loved to can what she harvested.  She was an independent hardworking woman with a great sense of humor who loved her family.

Services for Nancy will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, in the calming chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville.  The visitation will be held from 9 to 11AM. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM, with the Rev. Joshua Craley officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Blain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s name to New Hope United Church of Christ, PO Box 343, Landisburg, PA  17040.
