Marty E. Stone

Marty E. Stone, 62 of Loysville, unexpectedly left his Earthly home to join his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 2, 2023.  He was born in Carlisle on December 14, 1960 to the late Wayne and Barbara (Baughman) Stone.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Nancy (Rice) Stone; three children:  Jesse (Erin) Stone of Loysville, Becki (Bill) McSherry of Landisburg, and Cain (Amanda) Stone of Elliottsburg; six and a half grandchildren:  Eleanor, Aeda, Deklan, Stone, Jonas, Norman and a soon-to-arrive new bundle of joy; and sister, Bev (David) Kell, Jr. of Ickesburg.  Marty was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  He loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Marty graduated with the 1979 Class of West Perry High School and worked for the past 20 years for Collins Construction in Loysville.  He was a member of Tressler Memorial Free Lutheran Church and was very active in his community.  He butchered for Heritage Days and loved being outdoors (hunting, fishing and trapping).  Understandably, he enjoyed helping others – and not always in construction!  His wife’s favorite memory of him is sitting on the front porch with her watching the sunset.  Marty was well known and loved in Loysville.

Marty’s memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 13 at Church of the Living Christ. The Gathering of Friends will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.  The Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ethan Swartz officiating.  An Outdoor Celebration for Marty will be held on Saturday, May 27 from 12 noon to 4:00 PM at Mike Stone's residence on Couchtown Road, Loysville.  It's a pot luck, so bring a dish to share!
