Marjorie L (Goodling) Rice

Marjorie L (Goodling) Rice, age 93 of Loysville, went home to be with her Lord on March 16, 2023.  Born in Winside, NE on September 16, 1929 to the late Walter and Bertha (Koch) Goodling, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald E Rice, who died in 2013 and her two brothers:  Donald and Walter Goodling, Jr.

Marjorie is survived by a large family which includes:  four children:  Robert (Judi) Rice of Bethlehem, Nancy (Marty) Stone, Cindy (Kirk) Stone, and Kathy (Edward) Zendt all of Loysville; ten grandchildren: Andrea (Alex) Hooker of Plano, TX, Elizabeth (Thomas) Dexter-Rice of Herndon, VA, Thomas (Moira) Dexter-Rice of Arlington, VA, Jesse (Erin) Stone of Loysville, Becki (Bill) McSherry of Landisburg, Cain (Amanda) Stone of Elliottsburg, Shree (Adam) Williams of Landisburg, Blake (Katie) Stone of Biglerville, Jarret (Kayla) Zendt of Loysville, and Josie (Aaron) Morey of Manheim; twenty great grandchildren; and two sisters:  Arlene Wallace of Blain and Joanne Robinson of Loysville.

Marjorie was an active member of Tressler Memorial Free Lutheran Church in Loysville.  She earned her associate degree from the Central Penn Business College.  After being a mother and house wife, she was employed for 18 years by West Perry School District as a teacher’s aid until her retirement.  She worked with children at both Greenpark and Blain Elementary Schools.  This loving, caring, motherly soft-spoken lady of faith will be greatly missed!

The visitation for Marjorie will be held Tuesday, March 21 from 10 to 11 AM in the calming chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc in Loysville.  The funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Adam Williams officiating, and interment will be in Restland Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Homeland at Home Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 270, Harrisburg, PA  17110 OR Church of God Home, 801 N Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA  17013.
