Mabel (Lyons) Smith

Mabel Geraldine (Lyons) Smith, 96, of Blain went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at Brookline Manor in Mifflintown. Mabel was born August 28th, 1924 to the late Jeremiah R. and Pearl M. (Gutshall) Lyons. She was also preceded in death by a brother Glenn Lyons and three sisters, Ruth Shreffler, Helen McMillen, and Elmina “Miny” Crozier. She also joined her late husband, Richard D. Smith, of 59 years. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed helping on the family farms, telling stories, cooking dinners, and attending family reunions.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Loysville and read her Bible daily. Mabel is survived by by her two brothers William and Ronald Lyons, sister Gail Goodling, two sons Richard G. Smith and Cris N. Smith, grandchildren Scott D. Smith, Katie J. (Smith) Heilman, and Angela M. Arnold, and great-grandchildren Megan and Ben Smith.

A public graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 18 at 12:30 PM, with the Reverend Bill Pipp officiating, and burial following directly.
