Frank H. Comp of Shermans Dale, age 71, died on April 29, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Harrisburg on September 15, 1950 to the late Horace “Doc” and Mae (McNaughton) Comp, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Denise (Smiley-Cree) Comp, three children: Sherri Comp of Philadelphia, Wayne Fry of Newville, and Thomas Comp of Shermans Dale; a stepdaughter: Deanna Werner of Carlisle; ten grandchildren: Cadence, Keagan, Jameson, Ava, Lily, Donnie, Mike, Greg, Kevin and John; and his sister, Martha Rockwell of Shermans Dale. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by two siblings: Dixie McNaughton and Ken Comp.
Frank was lucky enough to turn his passion into a business. He owned and operated Dreamride Builders, a street rod restoration shop. Although a true Chevy guy, he worked on all kinds of cars. He enjoyed watching National Hot Rod Association drag racing and loved sharing his joy for the sport with others by taking friends and family along to Maple Grove Speedway each year so they could experience the rush and excitement up close. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and the Yorkies the family has owned over the years.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 7 PM in the newly renovated chapel of Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. of Loysville, with Pastor Rafe Sanderson officiating.
Arrangements entrusted to Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc.
