Edwin L. “Jake” Sheibley, 87, of 964 Warm Springs Road, Landisburg, a lifetime resident of Spring Township, Perry County, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 11:46 a.m. in his residence.
Jake was born in Spring Township, Perry County, on August 17, 1936, a son of the late Sarah Sheibley. He is survived by his wife, Annette. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Edith A. Ellerman, and by a sister, Nancy L. Reeder.
He attended the Landisburg High School. He was engaged in dairy farming in Spring Township until 1990, when he retired from a lifetime in agriculture. He then served as a courier for the Bank of Landisburg until his second retirement in 2018. Jake enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, Annette, he is survived by three children and their spouses: Edwin S. Sheibley (Mary Beth), South Carolina; Peggy L. Shover (Jody), McAlisterville; Julie A. Saltzburg (Rick), Blain. Also surviving are two step-children: Randall B. Lightner, Landisburg, and Jay D. Lightner (Amy), Dillsburg. Jake is survived by a special granddaughter, Amy Beaston, and 12 other grandchildren. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Peggy A. Crozier (Jack), Landisburg.
Private services and inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions in memory of Jake may be made to Accent Health Care, 506 South State Road, Marysville, PA 17053.
