Darlene M. Schlusser

Darlene (Myers) Schlusser of Landisburg, age 77, died on February 24, 2023.  She was known to most as “Nana”.  Born at home on August 21, 1945 to the late Lester and Amanda (Bender) Myers, Sr. of Landisburg, Darlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  She is survived by two children:  Kevin (Renell) Schlusser and Deborah (Bryan) Sheldon, both of Landisburg; four grandchildren:  Tabitha (Jessica) Schlusser-Sommers of Landisburg, Kayla (Paul) Adkins of Shermans Dale, Donovan (Sarah) Schlusser of Mechanicsburg, and Devin (Harley) Sheldon of Landisburg; seven great grandchildren:  Brysen, Conar, Rhyker, Barrett, Dorothy, Rhydon, and Teagan; and brother, Larry Myers of Landisburg.  In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 29 years, Lee “Bob” Schlusser and brother Lester Myers, Jr.

In addition to raising a family and running a household, Darlene worked in the cafeteria of West Perry High School, from which she retired in 2005.  She was a member of Sheaffer’s Valley Church of God.  Her absolute passion was spoiling the grandchildren!  Darlene was famous for her homemade pies and she loved to bake them to give away to others.  She was a lifelong proud resident of Perry County, and her family was always amazed that even when they all travelled together out of state, that Darlene would still meet someone she knew from Perry County.  This sassy, loving, independent, and selfless woman will be missed by all who knew her!

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
