Carrie Zeigler Obituary

Carrie J. (Gilbert) Zeigler, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Claremont Nursing Home, Carlisle.  She joins in heaven her beloved parents, Gerald Gilbert, Sr. and Stella (Wilson) Gilbert; and two brothers, Edwin Gilbert and Richard Gilbert.

Born May 24, 1942 in Blain, she was a 1960 graduate of Greenpark High School.

She was a member of Faith United Church in Ickesburg, where she was a bible study member.  She was also a longtime member of the Ickesburg Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and was awarded the Faithful Service Award in 2003.

Carrie was a Penn State football fan, loved her cats and truly enjoyed the years she spent making ice cream at the Ickesburg Carnival.

A loving, kind woman of faith, she found great joy in living a simple life and was happiest when she was spending time in worship and with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children:  Ronald G. Zeigler, Jr., Shermans Dale, Scott W. Zeigler (and his wife, Tess), Palmyra, and Susan M. Miller (and her husband, Roy), Millerstown; her brothers:  Gerald Gilbert, Jr. (and his wife, Ann), Enola, J. Leon  Gilbert (and his wife, Barbara), Mechanicsburg, and Ronald Gilbert (and his wife, Linda), Carlisle; her sister:  Bernice Hummel (and her husband, Frank), Duncannon; 6 grandchildren:  Elizabeth Miller, Roy Miller III, Hunter Miller, Leigha Matthews (and her husband, Ryan), Jessica Zeigler, and Ian Zeigler; 3 great-grandchildren:  Ryleigh Matthews, Kyla Matthews, and Ivy Yonkosky; nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, 3626 Sherman’s Valley Road, Loysville, where friends will be received at 10:00 am.

Burial will be in Blain Cemetery.
