Betty A. Dyarman, age 81 of Elliottsburg, left her Earthly home and ascended into the arms of Jesus on October 3, 2022. Born at home on August 6, 1941 to the late John and Minnie (Sheaffer) Dyarman of Newville, Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by four children: Alan Spencer of Shippensburg, Normajean (Kenneth) Raudabaugh of Shippensburg, Tammy Hess of Shermans Dale, and Rhonda Tart of Elliottsburg; six grandchildren: Lisa Raudabaugh, Alan Spencer, Shawn Raudabaugh, Courtney Hess, Corey Hess, and Justine Bullock; four great grandchildren: Jamey, Evermore, Jaylynn, and Eliana; and her brother, John Dyarman of York. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by husband, Lloyd Spencer; son, Scott Spencer; granddaughter, Jordan Spencer, and three brothers: Jake Dyarman, Jim Sheaffer, and Joe Dyarman.
Betty worked as a Cook for The Curve restaurant in New Bloomfield. In addition to raising a family and working full time. Betty was a member of Young's United Methodist Church of Shermans Dale. Betty was a country girl who loved Elvis, The Waltons, and Little House on the Prairie. She fiercely protected her children, while setting clear and definitive behavioral boundaries for them that she strictly enforced. She was a "Momma Bear" regarding her children. She was loving and friendly and loved to dance.
Betty's visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7 in the newly renovated chapel at Nickel Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home in Loysville. The visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM. The funeral service will begin at 12 PM and will be officiated by Rev. Bill Pipp. Interment will follow the funeral service in Doubling Gap Church of God Cemetery in Newville.
