WAYNESBORO, PENNSYLVANIA
Linwood “Woody” Vernon Poper, 80, of Waynesboro, died on Thursday, April 19th, at his home with his wife and family by his side.
Linwood was born in Hagerstown, Maryland on April 16, 1938, a son of the late Aretta Mae (Potter) and Roy A. Poper.
He was the husband of Sharrie Lee (Bump) Poper.
He attendee Fairview Avenue Brethren In Christ Church Waynesboro, PA 17268.
He worked as a Municipal Employee at Borough of Waynesboro retiring in 1986. He worked at the YMCA Waynesboro until 2005 to 2011 working maintenance.
In addition to his wife, Linwood is survived by two daughters, Julie, wife of Larry Nunemaker, of Floral City, Fl.; Mikki Poper, of Waynesboro, PA; four sons Gary, husband of Penny Poper, of Zullinger, PA; Michael Poper, of Waynesboro, PA; Martin, husband of Barbara Poper, of South America; Troy Poper, of Waynesboro, PA; a step son, Jimmy, husband of Ashley Cotter, of York, PA.; two sisters, Bertha Virginia Brown, of Waynesboro, PA; Mildred U. Minnich, of Greencastle, PA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son Ernest Poper; four brothers Ernest, Markwood; Edward, and Roy, Poper Jr.; and step son Skeeter Engles.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 7 PM in the Fairview Avenue Brethren in Christ Church with Rev. John Walker officiating. Interment will be private.
