TUCSON, ARIZONA
Joseph “Joe” B. Siess, age 80 of Tucson, Arizona and formerly of Waynesboro, PA for the previous 79 years, passed away late on Friday evening, September 21, 2018 at the Loving Hearts Home 6445 N Desert Foothills Drive, Tucson.
Born January 12, 1938 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Benjamin J and Amelia M. (Mueller) Siess.
He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School class of 1956.
Joe was the husband of the late Sheron (Murdoff) Siess who passed away on February 25, 2017.
He was employed by Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, Md, until his retirement. After his retirement he was employed as a part time funeral assistant, non licensed, with the Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Inc. in Waynesboro. In addition, he and his late wife ran Valley Family Tours for many years, organizing bus trips to most of the eastern half of the United States and as far as Mount Rushmore.
He had been raised in St. Andrew’s Catholic Church but later joined Faith United Methodist where he served in various offices, including church treasurer. He later attended Otterbein and Crosswalk Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Laura, wife of David Wagner, of Tucson, Az; step-son Darryl Nichols, of Sterling, VA; step daughter, Lana Spence wife of Dirk of Tinley Park, IL; step son Stephen Mason of Tucson, Az and grandchildren, Jeremiah J Barr and Conner B Barr of Tucson, Az, Karlie Liekel wife of Jim, of Tucson, Az, Madelyn Spence of Los Angeles, CA and Robbie Spence of Tinley Park, IL. along with two great grand children, Emelia and Lydia.
Joe loved to travel and enjoyed watching any westerns and old fashion polka music got his toes tappin.’ He was also quite a history buff and considered himself and “unofficial” tour guide for Gettysburg. His wit and charm will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Inc. corners of S. Church and W. Second Streets, Waynesboro. Rev. John Mullins officiating. Interment in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Waynesboro.
