Born October 29, 1934 in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Leoda (Frazer) Leamer.

He was a 1952 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.

Benjamin was a US Veteran, serving in the US Army during the Korean War.

Benjamin loved hunting and fishing.  He was a great talker.   He had an article written about him when he first came to Perry County and he was called Gentle Ben.   He was passionate about keeping our waterways clean for our future generations.  He loved the family camp in Huntingdon County and the mountains. He was a jazz lover and lover of all music, but his favorite was Manhattan Transfer. Also, he was an avid Penn State football fan and loved West Perry High School football games.   He belonged and supported sportsman clubs.  Loved fishing but more importantly wanted to preserve our water and taking the grandchildren canoeing at Little Buffalo.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Bret Leamer and his wife Stephanie of New Germantown; two daughters Jennifer and Joe of Clarion, PA and Kristin and Sean of Chestertown, MD; grandchildren Elizabeth Glover of Clarion, PA; Addisyn Leamer of Mechanicsburg, PA; Peyton and Carter Hall both of Chestertown, Maryland; a brother Robert Leamer of Huntington, PA; two sisters Carol Roby of August, GA and Nancy Smyers of Alexandria, PA.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother William Leamer.
