George E. Simmers, age 66 of Quincy was suddenly called home on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born January 30, 1952 he was the son of the late George C. and Helen L. (West) Simmers.
He was a graduate of Waynesboro Sr. High School.
He had been employed until his retirement in 1994 at the Arcata Graphics as a fork lift driver and other various positions.
He is survived by his longtime companion and fiancé Mary A. Souders of Waynesboro, son John C. Simmers and his wife Penny of Waynesboro, PA;; three daughters Heidi M. Plante and her husband Paul of Shippensburg; JoElla L. Cole of Fayetteville; Jessica A. Perez and her husband Daren of Doswell, VA; Gene L. Warren of Selmer, TN;; daughter Tammy S. DeWalt and her husband Wade of Greencastle; son Joe Brown Jr. and his wife Tanya of Waynesboro; grandchildren Sabrina M. McNeil and Keith A. McNeil both of Waynesboro; Haley A. Simmers of Fayetteville; Sincere L. McCray and Trent D. Simmers of Doswell, VA; Brandon P. Cole, Jr. of Fayetteville; Roxanne Gilmore and her husband Kevin of Greencastle; Todd A. DeWalt of Greencastle and Kaytelyn B. Brown and Kody J. Brown both of Waynesboro.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 2 P.M. in the Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Inc. , corners of S. Church and W. Second Streets, Waynesboro. Rev. Rand Atherton Officiating. Interment to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Quincy, PA.
