Dean Edwin Ernest, age 84, of Loysville died on Tuesday evening, April 9, 2019 at the Thornwald Home in Carlisle, Pennsylvania with his family by his side.
Born March 21, 1935 in Loysville, PA he was the son of the late Clark and Alda (Fuller) Ernest.
He was the husband of Virginia (Smith) Ernest of Loysville.
Dean was employed until his retirement at Roadway Trucking, Middlesex, PA as a dockworker. He also over the years had been employed as a farmer, Sawmill Smith Brothers, Maslands and Central StorageTrucking.
He was a member of Sandy Hill U.C.C. Church, Blain Sportsman Club, Blain Fire and Ambulance, life time member of Teamsters and Gaines Turkey Feed Club.
For many years he was a baseball coach with Little League and Babe Ruth League, and loved hunting, fishing, spending time at camp in Tioga County, playing baseball for Blain in the Perry-Juniata League and spending time with his dogs.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his three sons Dale Allen Ernest, Mark Wayne Ernest and John Eric Ernest all of Loysville, and a brother Martin (Babe) Ernest of Ickesburg and 1 grandson. He is preceded in death by four sister Anna Mae Swartz; Ruth Nuss; Jane (Till) Clark; and Sally Nesbit. And three brothers Harry Ernest; Karl (Dutch) Ernest and Bobby (Sam ) Ernest.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the Sandy Hill U.C.C. Church, 6300 Tuscarora Path, Loysville, PA followed by a funeral service at 11 A.M. with Rev. Michael Boehm. The family request due to limited parking that those who are not attending the service to please try to pay their respects between 9 A.M. and 10 A.M. Interment will follow in Blain Cemetery, Blain, PA.
