Clarence Newton Reisinger

August 18, 1946 ~ May 7, 2019 (age 72)

Clarence N. “Jim” Reisinger, 72, Duncannon, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the West Shore Hospital.

Born August 18, 1946 in Landisburg, he was the son of the late Helen Reisinger Barkley and Roy Barkley and was a 1965 graduate of West Perry High School.  He retired from ArcelorMittal/Bethlehem Steel after 41 years of employment and had been a Pennsylvania State Constable for over 20 years.

Jim was a longtime member of Snyder's United Methodist Church, New Bloomfield; a member of the Duncannon Sportsman’s Club, the Steelworker’s Union and the Pennsylvania State Constable Association.

An avid hunter of deer and squirrels, he cherished the time he spent outdoors and the time he spent with his family at their camp, the “Old House”, which was the house where he was born in Landisburg.  Jim was proud of his garden and enjoyed working on his property. He participated in the Block Shoots at the local Sportsman’s Clubs; loved watching Westerns, especially Gunsmoke; playing golf with his buddies at Rich Valley; playing guitar (which he taught himself) and watching all sports, including his favorite teams, the Patriots and the Phillies.  Mostly, he loved spending time with his family, especially cheering on his grandchildren when they played sports.

Surviving is his beloved wife of over 52 years, Susan J. (Fisher) Reisinger; two sons: Heath (wife Jennifer) Reisinger, Lewisberry and Ryan Reisinger, Enola; 2 grandchildren:  Zacharey Reisinger and Adison Reisinger, both of Lewisberry; and 4 sisters: Linda (husband James) Williams, Brenda (husband Ronald) Dupert, Auralia (husband Steve) Stum and Royetta (husband Carl) Baughman, all of Landisburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his church, 1724 New Bloomfield Road, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. William Pipp officiating.  A viewing will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Shermans Dale.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Snyder's United Methodist Church VBS Fund, 1724 New Bloomfield Road, New Bloomfield, PA  17068.
