Betty A. Karns, age 88 of Carlisle was called home on Friday evening, April 5, 2019 at the Carlisle Manor Care Nursing Home, Carlisle, PA.
Born April 1, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Roy A. Evans and Ora B. Rhodes Lubert and step father Stanley Lubert.
She was the wife of Robert A. Karns Sr. of Carlisle.
She had been employed until retirement at in the guidance department with the Cumberland Valley School District. She also worked at the Red Lobster in Mechanicsburg.
In addition to her husband she is survived by six children; Richard T. Evans and his wife Pam; Paula A. Walter and her husband James; Edna D. Hetrick and her husband Rick and Mary D. Hayslett and her husband Guy; Robert Karnes, Jr. and wife Missy and Tammy L. Karns; 14 grandchildren; and numerus great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. And 2 cats Sam and Mitz. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by grandson Sgt. Timothy Hayslett and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 4 P.M. to 5 P.M. in the Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc. , 3626 Sherman’s Valley Road, Loysville followed by a funeral service at 5 P.M. Interment will be private.
The family request memorials be made in Mrs. Karns name to the Girl Scouts , 350 Hale Ave, Harrisburg, PA 17104
