Bobby Jo (Mortorff) Rowe

Bobby Jo (Mortorff) Rowe of Landisburg, passed away entirely too young on March 7, 2024 at the age of 57 after her courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Carlisle on June 14, 1966 to the late Robert F. Busey and Betty Elizabeth (Mutterbaugh) Mortorff, Bobby Jo is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Edward Rowe, who died in 2021.  She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Rowe of Shermans Dale; three granddaughters:  Alivia, Magdelina, and Serena; and two sisters:  Nancy Rhoades of NY and Rose Rogers of CT.  In addition to her late parents and husband, Bobby Jo is also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Mae Worthington.

Bobby Jo was best known for her “call it like she sees it” personality.  She spoke directly and without innuendo.  You knew exactly what she thought of any given situation, yet she was compassionate and incredibly giving to anyone who needed something.  She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren dearly.  She worked at K-Mart as a clerk for many years, stocking the retail shelves.

Bobby Jo didn’t want a fuss made over her in death.  By her choice, there will be only private services held at the convenience of the family.
